RECREATION AND SOCIAL EVENTS

WITHIN HIDDEN RIVER:

Recreation area with lake, picnic area and Myakka River access

Indian Mound: a Caloosa Indian Village site inside Hidden River.

Saddle trails: along roadways, through the recreation area and, with property owners approval, along the dike.

NEIGHBORING MYAKKA AREA:

Myakka State Park: 28,000 acres on Hidden south boundary.

Crowley Nature Center: 180 acres of natural habitat for flora and fauna across highway on Hidden  northern boundary.

Old School House: Historic landmark is original one-room schoolhouse circa 1915. Used today as Community Center and Meeting House.

Myakka United Methodist Church: Historic landmark with continuous church services since 1886.

SOCIAL EVENTS

Spot Landing Contest: Usually held twice a year with a community party that evening - featuring awards for the winning pilots.

Community breakfasts and GIGIF parties at Hidden River Meeting House.

Hidden River Women's Club events.

COMMUNITY USE OF COMMON AREAS

 

When Hidden River is not using the Common Areas (Meeting House, Aircraft Parking Area adjoining Meeting House and Recreation Area), individual homeowners of record residing in Hidden River and their personal guests may use these facilities.

 

Such use must be scheduled in advance with the director of the Community Center.

 

The Homeowner agreeing to the following must sign this statement:

 

The facilities will be used by the homeowner and his personal guests for recreation only -NO business meetings or other commercial uses. Personal and/or Hidden River yard sales will be excepted.

 

Facilities must be cleaned immediately after use and supplies must be replaced. If this is not done to the satisfaction of the Director of the Community Center, Hidden River will do the cleanup and/or replacements and such expenses will be charged to the Home Owner.

 

The homeowner will be responsible and liable for any/all damage or injuries to his/her guests and their property and will hold Hidden River harmless.

 

By signing this statement, the Homeowner agrees to the above.
